My name is Courtney Brooks, and I am the Venue Director here at Nature Pointe. My favorite part about weddings is the process of getting to know more about my brides and grooms. So today, I thought I’d tell you a little bit more about myself.
Although not born in New Mexico, I consider myself to be a local. My parents moved me to Red River, New Mexico when I was two years old. As soon as I could stand up, I was skiing straight down the mountain, literally. I clearly remember my mom telling me that I had to turn every once and awhile.
I’ve always loved the mountains, outside of wedding planning, my favorite thing to do is find my next hiking adventure. Some of my fondest memories are swimming in glacier lakes or wading in snow melt-off water streams at the top of most mountain hikes.
I got into wedding planning after my other brother got married. My organized side was caught up in all of the timelines and checklists. Strange, I know, but I’ve always enjoyed those types of things. I was one of those kids in school where people would always ask me what assignment was due and what they should be working on.
So, I use that same helpful organization to help my couples. I assume the role of a second mom on the wedding day and just help them stay happy and healthy. No need for them to have to stress about the little details, that’s why I’m here.
